Theory and practice

On the whole, legal studies focus on theory. Theoretical learning is extremely important. However, lawyers also have to make practical decisions, combining knowledge of the law with commercial acumen and business understanding. This also has to be learned, and the best way to do so is through ‘on the job’ experience.

BA‑HR is committed to providing its clients with practical, solutionorientated advice. With this in mind we have established the ‘BA‑HR School’: our name for the organised and ongoing professional development support we provide for all our employees. Our aim is that the BA‑HR School should provide highquality training and help our people to develop their potential throughout their careers.

During the year we teach various modules, which combine law with other subjects, such as languages, ethics, economics, negotiating techniques and client care. Legal subjects are tailored to the experience of individual employees and take in areas such as corporate law, securities trading, acquisitions, litigation, labour law, and competition. Some of these modules have been approved by the Norwegian Bar Association as continued professional development.

At BA‑HR, we understand the importance of always being hungry to excel and of helping each other to do so. The BA‑HR School supports us in supporting our clients.
