Capital markets
It is an interesting time in the development of Norway’s capital markets. Recent years have seen an increase in the size and complexity of transactions, and possible changes in the law are being discussed. BA-HR has been at the centre of developments, advising on transactions like:
- Aker Drilling ASA’s NOK2.5 billion share issue, among a number of other substantial issues for companies in the Aker group
- Advising UBS and JP Morgan on financing Storebrand’s acquisition of SPP Livsförsäkring AB, including a NOK9 billion rights issue and an issuance of subordinated debt
- Acting for Lehman Bros in connection with Dockwise’s listing and NOK1 billion secondary share sale
- Representing Sevan Drilling in its recent NOK1 billion bond issue, as well as handling a $270 million bond issue for its parent company
In fast-moving and heavily-regulated areas like capital markets, clear and practical advice is crucial. At BA-HR teamwork is important to us, and we are committed to providing our clients with the best possible mix of experience and expertise, quickly and efficiently. So we were delighted when research by respected legal guide, Chambers Europe, highlighted exactly that. BA-HR “puts together teams that can move forward quickly on even the most complex deals,” it wrote, making us “second to none in terms of efficient handling of large transactions.”
