Record high purchase of Norwegian properties

Aftenposten had a substantial feature article on last year’s record high turnover of real estate and the foreign buyers’ ratio of the transactions which has increased significantly. Reports show a total turnover of approximately NOK 130 billion, compared to NOK 72,5 billion in 2014. The foreign part of the transaction is record high, and constitutes around 40% of the volume. The start of 2016 is good, and the trend with foreign buyers seems to continue. This is down to several factors, especially low interest rate and large international flows of capital seeking return. In addition there is the weak NOK exchange rate.
